Louisiana artist, Clementine Hunter, was a self-taught black folk artist known for artwork depicting plantation life in the early 20th Century.

Beginning with a favorite book, students will draw from observation and create details with line designs and patterns.

In this session, students will learn how to draw a crawfish, step by step.
VA-014 Earth’s Night Sky (3-8)
They will learn shapes, perspective, depth, and position when viewed from a particular point of view as they paint a nighttime scene of stars, a moon, sky and tree tops.
VA-015 Georgia O’Keeffe Flowers (3-12)
This project enables us to see the parts of the flower and emphasizes warm and cool colors.
VA-016 Hearts of Clay (K-2)
Students will learn to roll clay coil shapes and spirals to form heart shapes with clay.
VA-017 Holiday or Nature Murals (K-12)
This project enables us to see the parts of the flower and emphasizes warm and cool colors.
LA-003 Free Your Mind (4-12)
The workshop is designed to encourage students to control their thoughts, think strategically and accept themselves.
LA-004 Zydeco is Live in Louisiana (K-5)
Author Theresa Singleton will read her book, Zydeco Zoom, to students and discuss Zydeco music, musicians and important Zydeco instruments. Students will be taught the “Zoom dance” too!
LA-005 Loving My Louisiana (K-3)
Author Theresa Singleton will share two of her books with unique accompanying songs and movement: Grandfather Lee and the Bees, and Pierre’s Empty Pouch.
