Get ready for the courir! In this lesson, students will have the opportunity to learn fun facts about Mardi Gras while learning how to paint a chicken running in a Courir de Mardi Gras/Mardi Gras chicken run. They will learn how to mix paint, how to create a background, midground and foreground, and practice alternative painting techniques. There will not be any beads involved, but this Mardi Gras moment will still feature joy, color, and something getting caught!

Appreciating our Veterans (PK-12)
Art + appreciation = honor. Students will pay homage to Veterans by creating a landscape featuring the American flag. During this session, students will learn techniques used in landscape painting while gaining a deeper understanding of Veterans’ service to our country. The paintings can be displayed during your school’s Veteran’s Day celebration!
Watercolor Winter Cards (2-8)
In this festive session, students will design and paint their own holiday greeting cards using watercolor techniques. Students will explore winter themes, color palettes, and personal expression while creating meaningful art to share with loved ones. This session is making the world a more beautiful and expressive place one card at a time!
Heart Maps (1-6)
What do you love? And can you express that love in a poem? In this session, students will create a heart map with drawings and words about the things that they love (including sensory loves, rituals, nature, objects, nonhuman companions, etc). Then, their visuals will become words of wonder when they turn their heart maps into a single poem about the things that make their hearts sing.
