Ready for a needle drop? This session takes a deep dive into the beginnings of Hip-Hop DJing and its contribution to culture. Musicality and music theory are discussed from a DJ’s point of view. Various Turntablism techniques that include mixing, scratching, beat juggling, and body tricks will be demonstrated live for the audience! This unique program can be scaled up or down to fit the space provided, so please communicate with the artist about tailoring your presentation to your needs. This session is great for your music and band students!

Jude Romero (Kabuki Dancers)
Originally from New Iberia, Jude is a founding member of Kabuki Kru and its performance counterpart, Kabuki Dancers. He has over 20 years of Hip-Hop dance experience. Jude has performed and competed across the nation with a focus on Breakdancing.
However, his passion for music and Hip-Hop culture also led him to DJing and MCing as well as a journey into the art of Turntablism. Jude’s mission is to use the youthful, creative energy of Hip-Hop to inspire and educate others.
