Jamie Dominic, also known as Jayme Romain, is a touring drummer, music producer, songwriter, vocalist, and graphic designer from Lake Charles, Louisiana. With over 18 years in music production and more than 25 years of drumming and singing, Jayme’s musical journey began in church at age 10.
He started producing music at 17 after learning from his cousins and gaining access to a recording studio, leading to thousands of songs and compositions for artists regionally and internationally. In 2009, Jayme joined T Broussard & The Zydeco Steppers, marking his entry into the Zydeco scene. By 2014, he became the drummer for Grammy Award–winning Zydeco artist Chubby Carrier, contributing to two of Carrier’s albums.
Jayme has performed worldwide with Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band and produced for artists including Rusty Metoyer, T Broussard, and The Barcélo Brothers of Ireland. He is also the creator of Crawfish & The Zydeco Tales, an educational music series that introduces children to Louisiana culture through storytelling and song.
His skills span Zydeco, Funk, Gospel, and R&B drumming, recording, mixing, arranging, songwriting, and artist development. Jayme has also taught percussion and vocal performance, continuing to inspire the next generation of Louisiana musicians.
