TEACHING ARTIST SESSION
Turning Creative Writing Into Songwriting will combine the two art forms unlocking inspiration and creativity. Through guided creative writing exercises, the students will write poems, flash fiction, and prompts that will be used to fuel their songwriting experience.The session can be adapted for holidays including Mother’s Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween with prompts regarding the holidays.
Single session
Audrey Marie is a singer-songwriter from Lafayette, Louisiana who started recording original music at 14. Writing songs using guitar, piano, and organ, her genre can be described as indie folk, indie pop, and alternative country.
She’s taught music lessons for 6 years including songwriting. Her songs are heavily influenced by nature and use comparisons of nature to paint a visual to our deepest emotions.
