Jeremy Benoit “JB Saax ” takes students through a crash course of how Jazz began and the integral role the saxophone plays in its inception. This course involves a live saxophone performance demonstrating many different types of jazz techniques and also sheds light on how America’s original music genre massively shaped the country in its wake.

Jeremy Benoit "JB Saax"

Smooth jazz saxophonist, Jeremy Benoit, better known as “JB Saax” is a lifelong resident of Lafayette, LA. He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette earning his bachelor of the arts degree in communications.

He has performed all over the state of Louisiana as well as other regional areas. He has opened up for many big stars including gospel recording artist Vickie Winans, R&B Sensation Cupic, Wendle B, The Legendary Major Handy, and more! He has also performed at many Jazz Festival events and has been involved in play scoring, video editing, music producing, track editing, sound engineering, music performance production and graphic designing for over a decade.

He regularly performs with the Acadiana Ecumencial Choir and the UL gospel choir. He has a deep appreciation for the arts with emphasis on theatricality.
