TEACHING ARTIST SESSION
Author Theresa Singleton will read her book, Zydeco Zoom, to students and discuss Zydeco music, musicians and important Zydeco instruments. Students will be taught the “Zoom dance” too! Students will have the option to purchase a copy of the book prior to the session. One copy of the book will be donated to the class which will be signed, and the author will also sign any books that the students purchase.

Theresa Singleton has been an educator for over 30 years. As a retired librarian, she enjoys using her creative talents to foster the love of reading and the Arts in young minds. The author of four children’s books, Theresa has penned stories rich with Louisiana themes and important educational lessons which include songs and dances. Her first three titles include Grandfather Lee and The Bees, Zydeco Zoom, and Pierre’s Empty Pouch. Her fourth book was designed to help children of all ages experiencing grief; its title is The Healing Stone.
