In this session, we’ll take a deep dive into the beginnings of Hip-Hop DJing and its contribution to the culture. Musicality and music theory are discussed from a DJ’s point of view. This program can be scaled up or down to fit the space provided. Various Turntablism techniques including mixing, scratching, beat juggling and body tricks will be demonstrated live for the audience!

Jude Romero (Kabuki Dancers)

Originally from New Iberia, Jude is an original member and founder of Kabuki Kru and its performance counterpart, Kabuki Dancers. He has over 20 years of Hip-Hop dance experience, performing and competing across the nation with a focus on Breakdancing.

His passion for music and Hip-Hop culture also led him to DJing and MCing, as well as a journey into the art of Turntablism. His mission is to use the youthful, creative energy of Hip-Hop to inspire and educate others.
