PACE: Year-round arts-integrated lessons

Founded in 1999 in response to the need for supplemental arts programming in elementary schools, Acadiana Center for the Arts started PACE in collaboration with Lafayette Parish School System.

PACE was created to assist schools in teaching the arts and teaching other academic subject areas through the arts with a team of professional teaching artists. 

To this day, AcA’s PACE program delivers hundreds of art-integrated lessons each week.

Every PreK, Kindergarden, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grade classroom in Lafayette Parish gets PACE lessons, plus 1 school in Vermilion Parish!

Teaching Artists conduct hundreds of arts integrated classes that advance state standard curriculum in Science and Social Studies through engaging activities rooted in visual art and dance each week. 

PACE is based on the idea that children learn in a variety of ways.
