TEACHING ARTIST SESSION
In this session, students will learn the origin of the dandelion and how its been used for centuries in traditional medicine. Students will use acrylic paint, paint brushes and a tissue roll to create the dandelion on canvas or thick card stock.

Toynette LeDay recently retired from the Lafayette Parish School System where she taught at the elementary level for over 30 years. She is a proud graduate of Abbeville High School and the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She has always had a passion for the arts, and she continues to be inspired by her students and other artists. She has preserved her memories for 26 years through scrapbooking by combining photos, journaling and creative embellishments to document important moments and everyday life. Toynette loves to travel and often seeks out museums and art exhibits wherever she goes.
