TEACHING ARTIST SESSION
In this lesson, students will have the opportunity to learn fun facts about Mardi Gras while learning how to paint a chicken running in a chicken run. They will learn how to mix paint, and how to create a background, midground and foreground practicing alternative painting techniques.

Ke’Shawn was born and raised in Opelousas LA. His ultimate goal in life is to inspire young and older generations by showing them that there are many ways to express themselves. Art has always been his way and passion, drawing at the table with his brother and uncle. Even though he would lose their friendly drawing competition, he never gave up because he enjoyed creating images and sketching them on paper. Ke’Shawn went to Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts in Opelousas, where he was given the tools and freedom to create. His mother is his biggest inspiration and motivation. Through his art, Ke’Shawn wants to leave a legacy for young people to see that art can be used to express emotions.
