The goal of this session is for students to feel a sense of freedom and ownership in their artistic expression. But how will they get there? After analyzing a sample painting, students will learn step-by-step techniques for creating their original artwork. They will be provided a template with a basic outline to guide their creative process.

Ke'Shawn Collins
Ke’Shawn was born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana, where he grew up drawing at the table with his brother and uncle. Even though he would lose their friendly drawing competition, he never gave up because he enjoyed creating images and sketching them on paper. Ke’Shawn went to Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts in Opelousas, where he was given the tools and freedom to create. He says art has always been his way and passion, and his mother is his biggest inspiration and motivation. His ultimate goal in life is to inspire young and older generations by showing them that there are many ways to express themselves and that art can serve as a channel for emotions.
