Inspired by the bold energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, students will create expressive dinosaur artworks using oil pastels and watercolor. This lesson invites students to explore emotion, symbolism, and color while learning about a groundbreaking Black artist who transformed the art world.

LouSea
Chelsea “LouSea” Louviere LouSea is a full-time mixed media artist based in Lafayette, Louisiana, whose practice spans public murals, interactive installations, cardboard sculpture, alternative photography, printmaking, embroidery, painting, and collage. LouSea’s creative works explore nature and self-love as pathways to personal and collective reflection, inviting viewers into an intimate dialogue drawing on the natural world as both subject and collaborator. LouSea utilizes unconventional materials and hybrid processes integrating hand-crafted details with experimental techniques. Her site-specific installations invite viewers to engage directly with the work and one another. In addition, LouSea serves as a teaching artist and community advocate, leading workshops and creating public art projects.
