TEACHING ARTIST SESSION

VA-033 Matisse Paper Cut-outs (K-5)

French artist Henri Matisse created playful compositions known for use of color and unique style. To create his compositions, he “painted with scissors!” In this session, students will learn about Matisse and discuss the important body of work in the medium of cut paper collage he made late in life. Students will create their own cut paper collage inspired by this artist’s work.
