TEACHING ARTIST SESSION
In this session, students will pay homage to Veterans by creating a landscape featuring the American flag. During this session students will learn techniques used in landscape painting while gaining a deeper understanding of Veterans’ service to our country. The paintings can be displayed during your school’s Veteran’s Day celebration!

Ke’Shawn was born and raised in Opelousas LA. His ultimate goal in life is to inspire young and older generations by showing them that there are many ways to express themselves. Art has always been his way and passion, drawing at the table with his brother and uncle. Even though he would lose their friendly drawing competition, he never gave up because he enjoyed creating images and sketching them on paper. Ke’Shawn went to Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts in Opelousas, where he was given the tools and freedom to create. His mother is his biggest inspiration and motivation. Through his art, Ke’Shawn wants to leave a legacy for young people to see that art can be used to express emotions.
